Leading American social activist and trainer Josie Bass highlighted the "importance of leadership for the creation of valued institutions" while speaking at the concluding session of the two-day workshop organised by the US Consulate General (CG) and Women Media Centre here on Friday.
"Leadership is all about vision and future," Bass told an appreciative audience comprising journalists, civil society activists and representatives of political parties. "The leader's unique legacy is the creation of valued institutions that survive over time."
Josie Bass, founder and principal of Alva Consortium, spoke at length on "advocacy and lobbying skills" during the workshop aimed at providing participants with relevant cutting edge techniques on developing advocacy strategy and legislative advocacy and to prepare Pakistani civil society with proper tools of advocacy.
The US Consul General Kay L Anske presented certificates to the participants at the conclusion of the workshop. Earlier, the Executive Director Women Media Centre, Fauzia Shaheen, welcomed the participants and guests. Provincial Ministers Nargis ND Khan and Tauqir Fatima Bhutto were among the 25 prominent participants of the workshop.-PR
