A Six-member committee has been formed to sort out details of merging both factions of APHC in light of its 1993 constitution, senior leader of APHC Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said Friday.
Talking to Private TV channel, he said a giant step has been taken to ensure merger of the factions of Syed Ali Shah Gilani and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq to ensure joint struggle for the resolution of Kashmir issue. Vowing to strengthen the platform of APHC he added that concerted efforts are needed for settlement of Kashmir issue as it is not the issue of one party or group but the future of thousands of Kashmiris.
He said a delegation of APHC including him (Mirwaiz Umer Farooq), Professor Abdul Ghani Bhatt and Bilal would visit Islamabad Saturday (June 21) evening to discuss the issues of mutual interest with the new Pakistani government. He said he will also discuss with Pakistan opposition leaders in a bid to devise a joint strategy aiming to build pressure on India to resolve the core Kashmir issue.
