Central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that his party has accepted to retain the existing judges of superior courts on adhoc basis to get out of the deadlock. Talking to a private television channel late Thursday night the PML-N leader said that principally his party is against the retaining of PCO judges under any arrangement.
Jhagra said as far the restoration of deposed judges is concerned his party has a clear stance and would not withdraw from it under any circumstances. He said the deposed judges be restored in line with Murree declaration and PML-N will show no flexibility in this regard.
He however said that his party will not follow any move to de-stabilise the PPP led coalition government to keep the process of democracy moving. To a question he said the PML-N has given no final opinion about the proposed constitutional package and a decision to this effect would come after the party meeting. Jhagra said that mentioning of 29 judges in the finance bill does not mean they have been appointed.
To another question he said according to him the coalition government enjoys the support of required number of parliamentarians in the joint parliament sitting to impeach the President. He said PML-N is supporting PPP for strengthening the system and it has no lust for power. The party would keep supporting the PPP led coalition government on issue to issue basis he added.
