The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok and the International Islamic University (IIU) on Saturday have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for extending academic co-operation. The AIT was represented by its President, Professor Said Irandoust while President, IIU, Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui signed the agreement on behalf of the IIU, says a statement issued on Saturday.
Professor Irandoust appreciated the IIU's role in promoting quality education and providing skills and expertise in various academic disciplines. The IIU president in his remarks highlighted the role of Engineering and Technology for well being of the nations. He said that the university was planning to establish its own medical college with latest and well-equipped hospital in near future.
Earlier, the delegation of the AIT headed by Professor Irandoust also called on Dr Siddiqui and discussed about extending mutual co-operation in presence of the Associate Director, AIT, Dr Naveen Anwar and Director, Strategic Planning Cell of IIU, Dr Abdul Majeed.
