The Hermès Birkin bag has broken all records when it comes to being the most costly purse ever, studded with precious stones.

This new bag is made with a rare Himalayan Niloticus crocodile skin with 18k white gold details and embellished with 245 diamonds; the bag was recently auctioned at a jaw dropping price of $300,168 (Pakistani Rs.314,681,227.63) by an anonymous buyer at a Christie's auction in Hong Kong.

"The diamond pieces created by Hermes are exceptional, but none are nearly as iconic as the Himalaya," Christie's said in a press release prior to the sale. "It is believed that only one or two of the Diamond Himalayas are produced each year, globally, making it one of the lowest production runs for handbags," CNN reported.

This handbag is the latest winner in the race of being the priciest bag ever bought; the previous record holder was also a pink diamond studded Hermès Birkin auctioned at $222,000 last year.

Hermès is one of the world’s most luxurious brands and its Birkins’s bags collection are the most sought after  with a normal bag’s price ranging from a whopping $7300.  These extravagant bags are one of the staples for the famous celebrities with having customers from Kim Kardashian to Victoria Beckham and many more.
