Pakistan may confront a severe economic crisis and the government should take bold decisions to meet the challenge, said Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, chief of newly created Awami Muslim League (AML). Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said that his party would represent the poor and the common man.
He said that some big political names have allowed their own relatives to enjoy power one after another. He said that Awami Muslim League would try to bring an end to the hegemony of feudal lords and industrialists.
"We have come up with new ideology and think that real and core issues could not be resolved without the direct representation of affected people on the floor of assemblies", he said. He hoped that major political parties would play their role in pulling out Pakistan from the fast impending crisis. He said that 29 judges have been accepted in Finance Bill instead of the restoration of deposed judges.
"Ruling coalition lacks required strength in the parliament and it was an irony that they were not ready to accept this fact and instead were using constitutional package as a political gimmick", he added. He said that nation wants a comprehensive solution of all problems while rulers was trying to brush aside the core economic issues.
