National Assembly Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza has described Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed as one of the most outstanding democratic leader in the Muslim Ummah. She made the remark during her talk with participants of Sheheed-e-Jamhoriat Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Cycle Rally that called on her at the Parliament House here on Saturday.
Sabir Kasuri led the members of Kasur Athletic Association during the call. The cycle rally started from the shrine of Baba Bulleh Shah in Kasur on June 21, and reached Islamabad on Friday (June 27). Dr Mirza added, Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto Shaheed was torchbearer of democracy and human rights, and a fierce advocate of equality, justice and human well being.
The great leader loved the people of Pakistan and returned here in spite of threats to her life. Masses wished to see Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto as Leader of the House and Prime Minister, but her assassination broke the mass heart, the Speaker added. Sabir Kasuri informed the Speaker that the rally was organised to mark the birth Anniversary of the Shaheed leader.
