Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has provided 16 kanals of land to Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (Tusdec) for setting up two skill development centres in Bagh district. According to Tusdec spokesman here on Wednesday.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has already been signed between AJK government, Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation and Tusdec in this regard. These two centres, being set up at a cost of Rs 50 million in Nomanpura - three kilometres from Bagh, will train youth in various trades including construction, hospitality and tourism to help regain the skills lost due to October 8, 2005 earthquake and allow the locals an enhanced livelihood.
Tusdec has already set up four Skill Development Centres in the quake-hit NWFP districts of Battagram and Mansehra. The spokesman said that hundreds of youth had already been trained from Battagram SDC, which recently completed one year of its operations. The AJK Capital City of Muzaffarabad is also expected to have two centres very soon.
