$250 million embezzlement case: notices issued to Shaukat, former secretary finance
Additional Sessions Judge of Islamabad on Thursday issued notices to former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and the then secretary finance for filing allegedly a false case of $250 million embezzlement against Zahida Malik. The respondents have been directed to appear before the court on July 27 with the relevant record.
Justice Manzoor Ahmed Mirza issued the direction on the complaint of Zahida Malik who has pleaded for initiation of legal proceedings for filing false case against her.
She appeared in person and apprised the court that former premier got a case registered against her under sections 420/467/468/471 PPC. She said that the former primer had levelled allegations against her for using his forged signature when she was serving as Country Director Overseas Pakistanis Socio Economic Development Club.
She was sentenced two years imprisonment but afterwards the court had acquitted her of the allegations, as the cases filed against her were fake, she maintained.
She said that she had undergone mental sufferings besides causing great harm to her repute. After hearing her arguments, the Additional Sessions Judge issued notices to the former premier and other respondents.
