Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that present government is elected by the support of the masses and people have pinned great hopes in it.
Chairing a meeting of provincial secretaries and high government officials at Chief Minister House here Thursday, the Chief Minister recalled that after assuming the office, he had apprised the officials and administration about his priorities and programmes.
He said in the light of the manifesto given by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, he had expressed the determination of providing employment to unemployed. He said under Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Youth programme, the unemployed youth would be given stipends and provided with jobs after their training while landless haris, and specially women haris, would be allotted agriculture land.
Qaim Ali Shah pointed out that as elected representatives they are answerable to people while administration and officials are accountable to the government as they reflect the government policies with their functioning.
He called upon them to strictly and speedily implement the government directives, policies, programmes and decisions and produce results expeditiously. He cautioned that no dereliction in this regard will be tolerated nor any excuse will be acceptable.
The Chief Minister made it clear that for good governance, all the officers will have to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, honesty and fear of Allah so that government could bring the results of its programme before the people who were neglected in every field in the past.
Qaim Ali Shah reiterated that present government wants to provide jobs to unemployed as soon as possible but except for few departments, rest have remained slow in this regard.
He directed that advertisements for vacant posts of Grade 1-15 be immediately published and Information department would ensure their publication.
He said certain vacancies of technical nature would be filled through Public Service Commission as per rules and regulations and these would include jobs in Grade 16 and above as well.
He directed that program for interview/test should be published within few days to ensure early completion of this process. Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah directed all the departmental heads to complete the recruitment process with transparency.
The Chief Minister said that as from today Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Youth Development Program has started whereby one lac unemployed skilled youth would be given jobs at home and abroad within a year after training.
Qaim Ali Shah made it clear that over 2 lac acres of land is available in command area. He clearly directed that series of kutcheries be completed in 10 days and after one month, the haris be granted "sanads". He said that entire administration and official machinery has to play a speed role while corruption will not be tolerated at all.
