The legal fraternity would lock the courts if deposed judges were not restored till August 14, said Supreme Court Bar Association Secretary Chaudhry Amin Javed here on Thursday. Talking to the media at Supreme Court, he said that direction of lawyers' movement would shift towards the ruling coalition instead of President Parvez Musharraf, if deposed judges were not reinstated till August 14.
He said that the lawyers would not only launch movement for the restoration of judiciary, but would also launch a movement against escalating prices in the country. It was feared that the government would become a prey to Article 58-2(B) in case it failed to reinstate the deposed judges, he said.
The deadline for August 14 is the last opportunity for the government; otherwise it will not be able to face any movement by lawyers and people of Pakistan. Talking about some media reports that some of deposed judges had agreed to take oath, he said that all such reports were merely rumours and were not based on reality.
He said that it was a conspiracy, which was being sponsored by the government, but the legal community would not let the government achieve its evil designs. He said that if some of the deposed judges reached an agreement with the government, then it would be an act of treason with the nation. The lawyers would not let these judges enter the courts, he added.
