The profit after tax (PAT) of Arif Habib Limited (AHL) has increased to Rs 456.441 million, showing an earning per share (EPS) of Rs 19.14 in the year ended June 30, 2008 as compared to PAT of Rs 321.590 million and EPS Rs 14.11 in the corresponding period last year. The board of directors of the company, at its meeting held here, recommended a final cash dividend for the year at Rs 2.50 per share, ie 25 percent.
According to the financial results, the operating revenue of the company increased to Rs 731.375 million in the period under review, against Rs 555.372 million in the same period last year. The company's net capital gain on investments surged significantly to Rs 34.302 million in this period against Rs 3.853 million in the same period last year. On the other hand, the company's operating expenses also increased to Rs 153.995 million in this period against Rs 126.793 million in the same period last year. The company's profit before tax increased to Rs 503.165 million in this period against Rs 363.152 million in the same period a year back.
