A one-day workshop on "Crude Oil and Petroleum Products" was organised by the National Centre of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry, at the University of Sindh, Jamshoro. The title of the workshop was "University Industry Interaction and Collaboration" and it explored the research activities related to crude oil and petroleum products.
The workshop was presided over by Professor Dr Ghulam Mustafa Seehar, Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Sindh. Professor Muhammad Iqbal Bhanger, Director of the Centre introduced the speaker, Dr Muhammad Ashraf Siddique who is working as a research scientist in KFUPM, in Saudi Arabia. Professor Bhanger presented a brief report about the research work of the centre and it's on going research projects. The workshop was held in three sessions.
In the first session Dr M. Ashraf discussed "Crude Oil Properties and Composition ". In the second session the speaker talked on Crude Oil Assay, while in the third session he described in detail "Petroleum products, catalysis and gasoline additive". More than 80 scholars from different science institutes and departments attended the workshop. Among participants, were NED University, Karachi, PCSIR Laboratory, Karachi, PSQCA, Karachi, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro and Sindh University, Jamshoro.
The Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences, Professor Dr Ghulam Mustafa Seehar speaking on the occasion congratulated the National Centre of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry for efforts taken to organise this multidisciplinary Workshop in which engineers and scientist from various organisations took part.
