Pir Mehar Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (AAUR) and Nova Scotia Agriculture College (NSAC) of Canada have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote international understanding and establish a closer relationship in academic and research.
Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Khan, Vice Chancellor AAUR and Dr Leslie MacLaren, Co-President and Vice President Academic signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations. Under the MoU, both institutions agreed to collaborate in various areas including research on agriculture production, plant biotechnology, natural resource conservation and management, value added post harvest technologies.
The MoU will also focus on exchange of teaching materials and scientific and technological literature related to agriculture production, agribusiness and natural resource conservation and management and facilitating exchange of professors for research and other academic activities.
The two institutions will extend invitations to attend scholarly and technical meetings, providing information on arrangements for attending national and international conferences, encourage joint participation in these events and draft agreements for students' mobility at the graduate and undergraduate level, as appropriate discipline areas are identified.
