A chest and tuberculosis specialist, Dr Muhammad Azam Mushtaq has lodged a complaint against the special selection board of Bahawal Victoria Hospital for overriding the merit and selecting the ingenuine candidate against the post of Assistant Professor.
In his petition to Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif the petitioner requested for cancellation of appointments based on the recommendations/selection of special selection board of B.V. hospital Bahawalpur because all selections were made without merit.
He submitted that he had qualified FCPS in chest ad T.B and (DTCD) diploma in T.B and chest disease and serving as District Chest Specialist at DHQ Hospital, Muzaffargarh and has nine years practical experience in T.B and chest and four year postgraduate experience but he was neglected and another candidate Dr Javed Iqbal who has done FCPS in general medicine only was selected while FCPS chest was mandatory for this post as given in the advertisement appeared in a section of press.
He further submitted that selection board should have to remove his name from the list during short-listing because he did not qualify against the post. He prayed for disciplinary action against the selection board and making appointment purely on merit, otherwise he would have to move to the court against this unlawful act.
