Fight against terrorism: Pakistan won't allow foreign troops within its territory: Foreign Minister
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday said that the armed forces were capable enough to take action against the militants and Pakistan would never allow foreign troops to operate inside the country. Talking to media persons in the Parliament House on Friday, he urged the nation to forge unity in fight against terror that has disrupted peace and security in the country.
Terrorism is destabilising national economy, he added. "The militants deserve to be dealt with iron hand. They are not capable to understand what the negotiations mean," Qureshi said.
He said that operation against militants currently going on in different parts of the country will continue till its logical end. Qureshi assured of full support and co-operation of the government to the peaceful tribals. Government intends to hold political dialogues with the peaceful people in Fata.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said around 67 Pakistani citizens, who were kept in Guantanamo Bay Prison, had come home, however, efforts were afoot to get back those 6 or 7 still languishing there. On Dr Afia's case, Qureshi underscored the need for rising above party considerations as well as making concerted efforts for her early repatriation. He said government had accorded priority to providing better medical as well as legal facilities to Pakistani doctors.
