Lailatul Baraat is of significant distinction in the life of every Muslim. This night on the 15th Shaban, is popularly known as Shab-e-Baraat. Hundreds and thousands of Muslims in the sub-continent observe this night with religious zeal and active participation in private and congregational prayers held in mosques.
Similarly there are also some nights in Islam, which are also significant, sacred with grandeur and Divine Majesty. Lailatul Baraat is one among them. Though in the Islamic perspective every night and day has its own importance, some are more important. For example, Lailatul Qadar, Lailatul Miraj, the two nights of Eids, the night of Arafa and the night of Ashura etc.
According to Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa "Allah opens the doors of Mercy and Grace for the mankind, the door remains open throughout the night till the Fajr prayers". In the night, Allah forgives those seeking forgiveness. It is also the night to help the poor and distressed people, to respond to beg mercy and forgiveness from Allah Almighty.
