The government is making all possible efforts to address the problems of overseas Pakistanis. Aspart of the efforts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently sent a two-member consular team of the Embassy of Pakistan in Seoul to far lung areas of Daegu and Busan in South Korea to extend consular services to the Pakistanis living there, says a press release received here on Saturday.
It said that a large number of Pakistani avail of the opportunity of submitting their applications for issuance of passports at their doorsteps. The General Manager, National Bank of Pakistan also accompanied the team to explain to the expatriates the procedures to remit their earnings and savings to Pakistan through the banking channels.
The Counselor, Syed Sajjad Haider assured overseas Pakistanis that all possible efforts would be made to address their problems. There are about 10000 Pakistanis scattered in various parts of South Korea. Under the newly introduced scheme of employment permit system, more than 300 Pakistanis have already arrived Korea, while more Pakistanis would join Korean companies soon.
