The Karachi Port handled 101,149 tonnes of cargo including 62,420 tonnes of import, 38,729 tonnes of export cargo and 3,743 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The freights comprised of 66,735 tonnes of dry cargo including 48,438 tonnes of general cargo; 2,235 tonnes of coal; 5,356 tonnes of cement; 10,706 tonnes of clinker and 34,414 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Five ships namely Sapphire T, Cerigo, Caribbean Emerald, Hanjin Chittagong and Harmony sailed out to sea during the reported period. Eight vessels viz D P Genoa, Sinar Bintan, Seven Seas Aurora, Harmony, Caribbean Emerald, Fu Ning Hai, Yossa Bhum and Atlantia are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Sidratul Muntaha, Seven Seas Aurora and Artimis expected to sail on Tuesday while another two vessels viz Yossa Bhum and Fu Ning Hai are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Nine vessels viz Oram Blossom, Iran Rajni, Pacific Turquoise, Sunrise Acacia, Apl Shenzhen, Cape Negro, Arnis, Sanic and Ocala due to arrive on Tuesday while another seven ships namely Holmen, Csoco Dammam, Apl Cairo, Jin Pu, Sea Princess, Orient-II and Iron Butterfly are due to arrive on Wednesday.
Seven vessels viz CV Maersk Novazzano, MV Christina, MV Leopard-B, MV Provider, MT ST Kitts, MT Long Fin and MV Hellenic Horizon are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, LPG, diesel oil and iron ore respectively during the report period. Container ship Maersk Tirana and oil tanker Prem Pride are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Fotco Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Three vessels viz MV Maersk Montana, CV Sima Paya and MT Eastern Tera carrying containers and chemicals due to arrive on Tuesday while three more vessels viz CV ACX Tsubaki, MT Neptune and MV Aliya are due to arrive on Wednesday.
