NWFP Minister for Agriculture, Ayub Jan, on Wednesday said in the Provincial Assembly that government had detected illegal allotment of 4,000 kanal agriculture land in Dera Ismail Khan, and efforts were underway for recovery of this property. The issue was pointed out MPA Israrullah Khan Gandapure of PPP (S).
The Minister said it was astonishing that allotment of such a big tract of land was not made by any high ranking official or provincial government, but a Revenue Officer issued the order. On receiving report about illegal allotment, inquiry was ordered by the government and probe report confirmed fraud, he said. At present, he said, the government has taken action for recovery of the illegally allotted land, but some of the beneficiaries have succeeded in obtaining stay orders from court.
However, he added, government was firmly pursuing the case and soon the misappropriated land would be recovered. He informed the house that the beneficiaries of the illegal allotment are influential persons of the province.
