Central Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique on Thursday said that his party if prepared to swallow the bitter pill to keep the coalition government intact but it cannot compromise on the fate of deposed judges and issue of indemnity to unconstitutional acts of Pervez Musharraf.
Speaking in a PTV programme the he said hopefully the judges would be restored in near future and his party would not be pressurised by the coalition leadership to give indemnity to the unconstitutional acts of Pervez Musharraf.
He said the forthcoming meeting between Chaudhary Aitizaz Ahsan and Senator Asif Ali Zardari would yield good results adding the meeting should have taken place much earlier. To a question, Saad Rafique said PPP and PML-N are two different political parties having different thinking in many areas so difference of opinion between them on certain issues should not be taken with surprise.
The parties have committed to co-operate with each other in the prevailing circumstances. This is a good development in the interest of the country and its people, he added. To another question Saad said despite having reservations over NRO his party has decided to swallow this bitter pill to keep the coalition intact.
He said that PML-N will have no objection if PPP proposes an acceptable candidate including Asif Ali Zardari for the post of president. He said his party despite having sizeable strength in the parliament has not proposed a candidate of its choice for the slot. After inducting a Prime Minister from Punjab and Speaker National Assembly from Sindh the slot of president should go to Balochistan or NWFP province, he suggested.
