Speakers at a seminar on Saturday urged religious scholars to promote peace and social harmony in the country. Ulema, present on the occasion, also came forward with suggestions and assured the administration of their full co-operation for the noble cause.
They said Islam's image was being tarnished under a conspiracy as they were being linked with terrorism and intolerance. They suggested that a committee of Ulema be formed at different levels to work out a plan that would help create a congenial atmosphere in the country. The District Nazim hoped that the Ulema would continue to support the district government.
