The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) would not give extension in time for electronically filing of income tax returns by both individuals and associations of Persons (AOPs) in September. Sources told Business Recorder on Tuesday that there was no chance of extension in time for filing of returns by certain categories of taxpayers.
The last date for filing of returns would remain September 30, and the board would not give any kind of further extension. Sources said that there was no logic behind extending the date for filing of returns. Taxpayers have been given over one month to thoroughly examine the returns.
There are certain categories of taxpayers, including individuals, AOPs and companies having special tax year, who have to file returns by September 30. About acceptance of manual returns, sources said that the returns would not be accepted manually.
