Minister for Law Justice and Human Rights Farooq H. Naek on Wednesday said the government would soon start evening shift courts across the country for immediate relief to people. "The government will soon start evening shift courts across the country to provide immediate relief and justice to the common man, and judges must come to serve the people in this regard."
Talking to media persons in the Parliament House, he reiterated that all the deposed judges would be restored without any discrimination. "They have to take oath under the constitution of 1973 and it is mandatory under the constitution. They (judges) all know it very well." He said independence of judiciary means the common man must get immediate relief and justice from the Civil Courts or Magistrates.
He urged the lawyer community to sit together and think how common man could get immediate justice. Naek said the restoration of deposed judges had no links with the election of Asif Ali Zardari, however, the Pakistan Peoples Party was committed to restoring all the deposed judges.
To a question regarding reopening of cases by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against Mian Nawaz Sharif, he said PPP did not believe in political victimisation. NAB was previously constituted for political victimisation and revenge, however, PPP government neither believed in political victimisation nor it would allow NAB to be used for this purpose, he said. He further elaborated that no new case had been registered against Mian Nawaz Sharif.
The Minister said the country was moving towards democracy and there would be hurdles in this way. "We want peaceful transition to democracy by creating consensus, harmony, peace, trust and by resolving problems of the people."
