Additional District and Sessions Judge South, Irfan Hussain Siddiqui on Thursday issued non bailable warrants of arrests against five accused in a case of torturing and attempt to kill Asif Ali Zardari at Civil Lines PS.
The accused were called absent after which, the court issued non bailable warrants against former IGP Sindh, Rana Maqbool, Senator Saif-ur-Rahman, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, Farooq Amin Qureshi and Najaf Mirza for September 27.
The accused were booked in a complaint filed by Asif Ali Zardari alleging that he was tortured and threatened to be killed or confess involvement in double murder case of former Justice Nizam Ahmed and his son Nadeem Ahmed Advocate.
Unidentified assailants allegedly due to a dispute, gunned down both the father and son in June 2005 over a priced plot adjacent to Awami Markaz Karachi. Asif Ali Zardari, Javed Akhtar Pirzada, an estate agent and Baber Sindhu an alleged hired assassin, were charged with the murders.
