In a move to persuade the dissenting legislators of Pakistan Muslim League-Q to return into party's folds, the PML-Q leadership has decided to file references against the party legislators, who not only formed a forward block but also openly violating party discipline.
Sources in the PML-Q told Business Recorder here on Saturday that decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the party held at Gulberg residence of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. The meeting discussed about every dissident members of the PML-Q and evolved future course of action to decide their fate.
Sources claimed that the meeting decided to first approach the dissident members and if they declined to return to party fold, references will be filed against them. It was decided in the meeting that as a first step, the PML-Q would file a reference for disqualification against four PML-Q legislators including Mian Atta Manika, Saba Sadiq for violating party discipline, the sources claimed.
The members of the PML-Q committee, constituted to establish contacts with the dissident members of the party, presented reports of their contacts with the dissidents. The meeting also discussed details of contacts being made by the PPP and PML-N with the PML-Q leadership for support in Punjab.
It was decided to show the PML-Q strength after getting required support. It may be mentioned that the PML-Q has already formed a Legal Committee comprising S.M. Zafar, Anwar Bhinder, Wasim Sajjad, Khalid Ranjha, Mohammad Basharat Raja and Moonis Elahi, to firm up necessary recommendations against those dissident legislators of the PML-Q, who formed a forward block in the party and violating the party discipline.
Addressing the meeting, Pervaiz Elahi said the PML-Q dissident legislators must return to the party folds and the party will give them due respect and honour. Otherwise, the y should be ready to face disqualification, the sources quoted Pervaz Elahi as warning the dissenters.
