Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and Bursa Malaysia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish co-operation ties between Pakistan and Malaysia in relation to the development of each party's capital markets.
The MoU, which was signed by KSE's Managing Director, Adnan Afridi, and Bursa Malaysia's Chief Executive Officer Dato' Yusli Mohammed Yusoff is aimed at strengthening and increasing co-operation between both parties in areas relating to the exchange of expertise and information.
The two parties have also agreed to partner in efforts that will increase awareness on the investment opportunities available in both the markets as well as assist in the maintenance of orderly markets in each country. Bursa Malaysia's CEO, Dato' Yusli Mohamed Yusoff commented: "We are pleased with the opportunities this MoU presents as this collaboration allows both Bursa Malaysia and KSE to cooperate in market development and mutual sharing of information."
KSE's Managing Director, Adnan Afridi said: "We are committed to working towards substantial ties that will promote, enhance and develop the investment environment in both countries in order to increase their attractiveness and profitability. As the region's major market, the KSE welcomes co-operation with other exchanges for the benefit of all. Closer ties will facilitate international and regional investments, spurring more capital markets activity and economic development."
Additionally, both KSE and Bursa Malaysia will explore the possibility of working closely in organising training programmes for both stock exchanges. Moving forward, the KSE and Bursa Malaysia will discuss additional avenues of mutual interest.-PR
