Research committee on Lal Shahbaz constituted

The Sindh government has constituted a research committee of scholars and academics to conduct in-depth research on the life and times of Hazrat Usman Marvandi Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. With Dr Ghulam Ali Allana as its Chairman, the committee comprises Dr Nawaz Ali Shauq, Dr Fahmida Hussain, Dr Ghulam Muhammed Lakho, Badar Abro, Syed Hakim Ali Shah Bukhari, Gul Muhammad Umrani and Director General Culture.
The Terms of Reference of the Committee are to conduct research or assign research to experts in the field of historiography, Sufism, Hagiography and cultural anthropology relating to Sehwan, Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and his contemporaries. The committee will adopt empirical research methodology to sift facts fiction, truth from mythology and bring about standard, authentic biographies, monographs on the saint in English, Urdu and Sindhi languages at par with international standard.
