Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has underlined the need for taking the Parliament into the confidence on the issue of war on terror. Talking to newsmen after meeting with the British Minister for Justice and Law Jack Straw on Tuesday, he called upon the ruling coalition government led by the Pakistan People's Party to come out with a clear policy on all the issues including war on terror.
He cautioned that any effort meant to destabilise the Punjab government would be defended with all available means. However, he said that his party was against any political confrontation. He said there was need of adopting a national stance against the threats being hurled by the US and assured that all political parties were united on issues of national importance.
"We have to give a message through this show of unity that national security and sovereignty would not be compromised." "We have presented our stance on all the issues properly during a meeting with the British Minister," he said and added the country was facing difficult challenges and the government should adopt a clear cut policy to resolve them.
To a question, he said his party did not want political confrontation as the PML-N wanted the democracy to develop. However, he said they would defend any conspiracy against the Punjab government. He said that Prime Minister's thinking was very positive and such thinking from all sides was required to address the problems being faced by the country. The PML-N, he said, was striving to keep the political temperature at low level.
