An Islamabad High Court (IHC) single bench comprising Justice Mohammad Munir Paracha will hear on Tuesday a writ petition seeking cut in prices of diesel and kerosene oil.
Kowkab Iqbal advocate, Chairman Pakistan Human Rights Society, in his petition has prayed to the court to bar the Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources from implementing the decision to increase prices of diesel and kerosene oil.
Iqbal alleged that the decision had been taken without lawful authority. He said the prices might be cut proportionately in line with the fall in oil prices on the international market. The IHC Registrar Office when contacted told this news agency that the petitioner had re-submitted the writ petition after removing objections that were made by it.
