The employees of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) have demanded of the government to release grant to enable the university to pay salaries before Eid. Addressing a peace conference, here on Monday, the university's office bearers including President, Mian Imtiaz Azeem, Chairman, Mehmood Ahmed Abbasi and General Secretary said the university's annual budget was Rs 1502 million out of which, the government was just paying Rs 327 million.
Nevertheless, this year, they said the government had imposed a cut worth 60 per cent, which had created a lot of problems for the university. They added that government increased salaries of the employees 20 per cent but it had been three months, the IIUI employees were still deprived of the raise. Further it was alleged that the university was being victimised and demanded early release of funds for the university.
