The Lahore High Court has sought comments from Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab in a petition of Khalida Ijaz seeking recovery of Rs 5 million she deposited with Crescent Standard Bank Ltd.
The petitioner said that Crescent Standard Bank had promised to pay direct profit on her amount deposited. She had invested Rs 5 million. Later, she came to know that due to irregularities of two bank employees, Anjum Saleem and Altaf Saleem, the bank had suffered loss, and refused to pay her annual profit. She said that the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) had taken cognisance of the matter and appointed an administrator to investigate the whole matter.
