Pakistan Peoples Party MNA Fozia Habib on Tuesday said the visit of President Asif Ali Zardari to United States was a great success in the present conditions in the country wherein the dictatorship was newly replaced with a democratic set up.
Talking to PTV, she said that soon after completion of democratic transition the President had to visit the US to address UN General Assembly and the world leaders were anxiously waiting to hear him. She said it was following the visit of President Zardari that the US leadership had realised that they had to deal with a democratically elected government rather than relying on a single person.
Fozia said that President had once again proved himself an able and efficient leader, adding that after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto it was Asif Ali Zardari who managed to keep the party and the entire nation united. It was due to his leadership skills that almost all the political parties supported him in the presidential election, she said.
To a question, she said that PPP had a very broader vision about economic uplift of the country through a comprehensive programme by taking all the stakeholder on board.
