The Lahore High Court (LHC) adjourned to November 17 the proceedings in an election petition challenging the victory of former Punjab health minister Dr Tahir Ali Javed from PP-133, Narowal as his counsel sought time to file his reply in the petition.
The petition was filed by Waqar Ahmad a defeated candidate of PML-N from the same constituency. Petitioner alleged that the respondent MPA contested election on the ticket of PML-Q. He said the respondent committed rigging on the day of polling and his father also misuse his office of district Nazim Narowal to secure victory for his son. Petitioner prayed to court to declare Dr Tahir disqualified and order re-election in the constituency.
