34 out of 54 members of parliament belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Q have refused to accept Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and Faisal Saleh Hayat as parliamentary leaders, private TV channel reported on Sunday.
The report quoted sources as saying that 34 members of PML-Q said they neither accept Faisal Saleh Hayat as their Parliamentary leader nor Chaudhry Pervez Elahi. They also said they do not accept Pervez Elahi as the provincial president of the Party of the Punjab.
Sources said change may come in the parliamentary leadership of PML-Q and Sumaira Malik, Riaz Fityana and Israr Ullah Tareen may get the post, however, the senior leadership is trying to resolve the issue and may call the meeting soon in this regard. It may be remembered that support of 28 members needed for Pervez Elahi to become parliamentary leader of the Party.
