Sui Southern Gas Company's (SSGC's) customer base has recently touched the two million mark. According to the latest figures, the figure stands at 2,072,086 out of which the Company is serving 2,045,967 domestic customers, 22,558 commercial and 3,561 industrial customers.
SSGC operates 3,309 km high-pressure transmission network and a 31,911 km distribution network extending across the two southern provinces of Sindh and Balochistan. The Company's five-year, US $800 million Development Plan formulated in 2003-04 is designed to expand Transmission and Distribution (T&D) capacity to 1.8 bcfd by the year 2009, enhance system efficiency and optimise service quality.
During 2007-08, SSGC completed a number of pipeline projects and laid a total of 2,643 km of transmission and distribution pipelines, comprising 2,624 km of distribution and 19 km of transmission lines. The year also saw the Company provided connections to 93,829 domestic customers, 1,733 commercial and 407 domestic customers.
The Company has continued to devote in its customer-centric approach by combining technology with devoted human touch as it invested in expanding its customer facilitation centres, providing choices through alternate bill payments options and extending 24/7 dashboard service through its state-of-the-art Contact Centre.-PR
