Perturbed by the unprecedented inflation and poverty, a resident of Quetta, Muhammad Riaz, sold his two-year old daughter at Rs 170,000, Aaj TV reported. According to the channel, the mother of the child, Rani Bibi, lodged a complaint with police that her husband had sold her daughter at Rs 170,000.
Riaz reportedly threatened his wife of dire consequences if she approached the police against him. On the complaint of Rani Bibi, Sariab Police recovered the child by conducting raid and registered a case against the father of the child. The father of Rani Bibi told the channel that as the child's father justify his heinous act so he must be punished.
Talking to the channel, Amir Rana Advocate, called for legislation to eradicating such heinous crime of selling minor children. He pointed out that many time accused involved in such crimes managed to escape punishment due to loopholes in concerned laws.
