Hashoo Group Chairman Sadruddin Hashwani has expressed his firm resolve that he would remained committed with Pakistan in regard with investment and said that these testing moments have not shaken his believe in the potential of the country.
'Of course, the situation is not conducive for business and investment right now," said Hashwani and added that the solution is not running away but to stand united as a nation and rebuild our beloved country again. While addressing at the occasion of Chehlum, which was being observed in the memory of victims of the 20th September tragedy held at Islamabad Marriott Hotel.
Hashwani informed the audience that at present 274 dependents of the 31 victims of the deadly blast have been identified.
These bereaved families of the victims of Marriott Hotel suicide bomb blast, he said, were assured of continued support by the Sahara Fund, which has been created under Hashoo Foundation and this fund seeks to help the bereaved families by bearing their food, education and heath expenses.
The Chairman Hashoo Group yet again expressed his deep sorrow over the killing of employees, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of security of other people. He said that their contribution would always be remembered. "The guards deputed at the entrance did not leave the place to save their lives. They tried their level best to stop the vehicle from entering the hotel," he said.
He urged the government to facilitate him in efforts regarding the rebuilding of the hotel which is face of the Pakistan and to ensure fool proof security system to restore the confidence of foreign visitors. The government ought to allot adjacent plot to the Marriott Hotel, he said, in order to curb such incidents in future, as the plot would be converted into a parking lot where all visitors would park their vehicles. Hashwani informed the audience that a concrete wall would be constructed around the hotel, which would be strong enough to check any such incidents. He reiterated that the hotel would reopen on December 30 and till then all employees of the Marriott Hotel would be paid their salaries and perks irrespective of their status or position.
He said that the Hashoo Group was trying its level best to approach the victims but it was not an easy task. "There are almost 750 employees of the hotel who came from different parts of the country for the sake of job," he said. Hence, media should also come forward to locate these people and carry forward our message so that they may get assistance.
The Chairman Hashoo Group expressed his grave concern that CDA, which is responsible for the development and security of the capital city was not ready to take the challenge and its inactiveness has been resulted as such a huge loss which could have been prevent with timely rescue efforts and efficient fire-fighting service. He further said that the government and CDA ought to do something in this regard on priority basis so that people may feel secure and protected and such mismanagement could be avoided in future, he concluded.-PR
