The suppliers from Pakistan participated in a big way in the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fair and got encouraging response from international buyers. As many as half a dozen companies dealing with apparel, weaving and textile accessories from Pakistan took part in the international exhibition that was held at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre, a Pakistani diplomat told APP on Friday.
"The response was encouraging for Pakistani exhibitors and they were able to develop linkages and got good number of orders from many countries around the world", he said. As per the organiser of the exhibition that was held between October 20-23, nearly 49,000 visitors from 82 countries visited the Fair. Over 2,500 supplies from 30 countries were provided stalls in 10 halls at the site of the exhibition.
Despite economic concerns around the world, trade buyers still choose to come to this fair - one of the largest in the world for textiles - to source fabrics and accessories and learn upcoming design trends, said the organiser.
The fair included stalls of domestic producers as well as countries and regions included Germany, Japan, Korea, Italy, Pakistan, Portugal, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, etc. Trend forums and industry seminars were part of the exhibition while a textile designer area and separate space for style and trend forecasting agencies was also allocated.
