The Central Secretary Finance, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Muhammad Pervez Malik has said that the expansion of federal cabinet would put undue burden on national exchequer. While addressing a party meeting on Monday, Malik said, 'Country is already facing economic problems and moves like increasing the number of ministers would add to its financial problems.'
On one side the country is trying for loans from financial institutions like IMF, while huge expansion in the Cabinet has been made on the other hand, he criticised. He said there was absolutely no need for expansion of cabinet, as huge sums would be spent on the perks and privileges of the ministers.
'Every possible effort should be made to save the country from the tentacles of IMF by adopting austerity and simplicity instead of going for ostentation by burying the country under the load of debt.'
Malik further said the move of inducting more ministers in the cabinet is aimed at accommodating coalition partners however would cost high. Criticising the federal government for having soft corner for former President, Pervez Musharraf, he said, 'If the government fails to hold the despot accountable for killing innocent people and abrogating constitution, people wound never forgive the rulers nor the dreams of stable law would be materialised. The PML-N leader also said that all people are equal in the eyes of law and whoever committing crime must be brought to justice irrespective of his status.
Furthermore, the November 3,2007 like October 1999 is black day in the history of the country and people by observing black day on the PML-N's call, has showed people's support for the struggle for independence of judiciary.
