The people of Pakistan will see a good change in the prevailing economic situation of the country after President Asif Ali Zardari's visit to Saudi Arabia and meeting of Friends of Pakistan, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan said here on Tuesday.
"I am hopeful about the future of Pakistan, sanctity and security of its people. A positive change is to come soon after the meeting of the Friends of Pakistan and Presidents' visit to Saudi Arabia, commencing from today," said the minister in his first interaction with the newsmen and officials of the ministry.
Babar Awan, also a senator, who would accompany the President during the visit to Saudi Arabia, said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy time-tested friendship and share religious sentiments as well, so it is hoped that the friendly state would come up to the expectations.
"Pakistan is going through difficult economic conditions but I am hopeful that the matters would be settled as both President Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani are striving to ensure country's deliverance from these circumstances, said the minister who took the oath among other 39 parliamentarians on Monday.
Awan said he holds the charge of a key ministry, which deals with the affairs of the parliament and is responsible for its strengthening, hoping that he would play every possible role to make the functioning of the Parliament smooth and efficient.
The minister, who is also the secretary of Benazir Bhutto Reconciliatory Committee on Balochistan, said all the parliamentary matters would be dealt with in accordance with the Constitution and law and every step would be aimed at promoting the image of the country and democratic system.
