The Government of Azad Jammu Kashmir has directed Mangla Dam Resettlement Organisation to accelerate the pace of work for timely resettlement of Mangla dam victims displaced due to ongoing upraising project. The official sources told APP here on Friday that a high level meeting in this regard was held here.
The meeting reviewed the pace of resettlement and rehabilitation process of the displaced families. The victims demands regarding an independent accommodation was discussed. It is pertinent to mention here that the AJK government has already forwarded necessary recommendations to the federal government for entertaining the victims demand about the independent rehabilitation of the sub-families falling displaced due to the upraising of the dam.
According to representative of Mangla Dam Affairs, who informed the government officials that the plot allotments to the Mangla dam victims for their housing in New Mirpur city and other four small towns including Siakh, Islamgarh, Dadayal and Chakswari would be started in the next month.
