Pakistan Muslim League-Q Central leader and former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday said that those who were claiming of practising the politics of principles have been exposed with "social dinner" in Islamabad.
He said this while addressing a consultative meeting with the PML-Q legislators, office bearers and ticket holders of Vehari and Khanewal, here at Muslim League House. He said that after connivance on judges' issue, new dramas would be staged in the name of annulment of 17th amendment and Article 58-2(b). "We repeatedly said that both (PPP and PML-N) are in unison. The PML-N is interested in power in Punjab while only we are playing the role of true opposition, which has been proved with the passage of time".
Elahi dispelled the rumours regarding disintegration of the PML-Q but said that a "group of four" after their failure in getting hold of the party would soon restore their party ie Junejo League. This group has been fully exposed and now they left are with no other option except to escape, he added. He emphasised the need for unity and discipline in the rank and file of the PML-Q. He added that future of the PML-Q is bright because we are playing the role of opposition in an effective manner. He said now is the time for unity of the party to bring the country out of crisis.
The participants of the meeting expressed confidence in the leadership of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussein and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and assured that all efforts aimed at weakening the party would be foiled.
Among others, Chaudhry Zaheer uddin, Mohammad Basharat Raja, Moonis Elahi, Arshad Khan Lodhi, Pir Aslam Bodla, Ishaq Khakwani and Dr Samia Khan attended the meeting.
