Former Federal Secretary Abu Shamim Mohammad Ariff expired in Islamabad on Sunday afternoon. His body has been flown to Karachi. Namaz-e-Janaza will take place at Zohr in Masjid-e-Tayyaba Bath Island. Ariff who topped M A Economics examination of Karachi University, was picked up by State Bank of Pakistan under Officers Training Scheme.
He retired as Secretary Statistics Division. Prior to death he was Secretary Production and Chairman Pakistan Steel. Until recently he held the post of Director General Civil Hospital Karachi.
