Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday announced reinstatement of 59 dismissed employees, belonging to District Dera Bugti, at Pakistan Petroleum Limited's Sui Gas Field. The decision is part of an effort to proactively address and stabilise the restive geo-political condition in the province of Balochistan and further the peace dialogue initiated earlier by the Government of Pakistan.
The announcement was made after a meeting between Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Khan Raisani held at Parliament House Islamabad.
Of the 59 reinstated employees, 52 are workers and 7 are management staff. Among the latter is Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti as well. The Prime Minister further opined that the reinstatement would also address the economic well-being of the local employees of Dera Bugti.
Prime Minister Gilani hoped that the goodwill initiatives will stern the conspiracy theories being hatched by vested interests. He further said that the government will not spare any effort to address the concerns of provincial government. The meeting was attended by the Advisor to PM on Petroleum and Natural Resources, Balochistan Minister for Finance, Chief Secretary Balochistan and Secretary Petroleum.-PR
