Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro while lauding the keen interest of Chinese business sector in Pakistan expressed the hope that the bilateral economic co-operation in different areas would help further strengthen the co-operative partnership and delivering long-term mutually beneficial results.
The Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Khuhro who was leading a delegation of Provincial Assembly Sindh to China was talking to the Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hu Zhengyue in which both sides exchanged views on wide-ranging matters of common interest. The delegation which was visiting China on the invitation of Chinese Peoples Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) also met with senior officials of National People's Congress, Communist Party of China, and CPIFA.
Referring to the bilateral economic co-operation in various areas, Nisar Khuhro appreciated the interest of China in Pakistan and expressed the hope that further investments by the Chinese side in the energy sector such as coal, wind and solar would further strengthen the bilateral co-operative partnership and deliver long-term mutually beneficial results.
Expressing complete satisfaction on Sino-Pak All Time Tested friendship, he said that the new democratic Government was determined to further strengthen bilateral co-operation. Referring to the visits of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to China that took place last month, both sides termed these visits as highly successful and productive.
They specially mentioned President Zardari's meetings with Chinese top leadership and agreed that the interactions at the highest level will give a new stimulus to the co-operative relations between the two countries. Khuhro said that China's progress was a matter of pride and inspiration for Pakistan.
China's co-operation with Pakistan is across the board, said Hu Zhengyue and added that his country will continue to push this relationship forward. He suggested that both sides should also develop co-operation at the Provincial and local levels.
The delegation while visiting the Convention Centre of National People's Congress (NPC) met with Chairman Committee on Agriculture and Rural Affairs of NPC Wang Yunlong where Nisar Khuhro and members of his entourage were briefed about Agricultural and rural reforms in China. Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Khuhro expressed deep interest in development of Agriculture on scientific basis in China and hoped that Pakistan and China can enhance their co-operation in Agriculture, especially in the field of research and development, exchange of policy experience, sharing of information in development of rural agricultural market and technology transfer.
The delegation of Sindh Assembly while visiting International department of Communist Party of China (CPC) met with Vice Minister of CPC Liu Hongcai. The Minister welcoming the delegation expressed deep interest in strengthening party-to-party relations with Pakistan People's Party (PPP). Khuhro apprised the Chinese side that the leadership of PPP has always attached great importance to Pakistan's relations with China.
The PPP, like CPC, is representative of society at the grass root level, he said and added that the new generation of PPP leadership is fully committed to taking bilateral friendship between the two countries to a new height. The CPIFA hosted a banquet in honour of Nisar Khuhro and members of his delegation.
Earlier, members of Sindh Assembly, led by Speaker Nisar Khuhro were warmly received by Vice President of CPIFA, Cai Jinbiao at the Institute and later exchanged matters of common interest. The delegation will also visit Henan Province where they will visit an Agricultural development zone and hold meetings with local government officials.
Before leaving for home, the delegation will also go to Shanghai on the last leg of their visit starting from Friday, where they will hold meetings with the Deputy Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal Government and senior officials of Shanghai Education Commission.
