Asad Ali Shah, President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) has been appointed as Member Board of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) for the term 2008 - 2011. This is the first time that Pakistan will be represented on the Board of this global body representing 122 countries.
IFAC is a global organisation for the accountancy profession with commitment to protect public interest by developing high quality international standards, promoting strong ethical values and support development of all sections of the profession around the world. IFAC Board comprises members from around the globe, representing accountancy profession. It is responsible for setting policy and overseeing IFAC Operations, implementation of its programs and the work of other IFAC Boards and committees.-PR
