'Cases registered against the workers of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) on account of December 27, 2007 incidences were being examined thoroughly would be withdrawn soon, as those were politically framed by the antics of the party.' The Acting Governor, Sindh and the Deputy Speaker of Sindh Assembly, Shehla Raza said this on Friday.
She was talking to the party workers and addressing an open katchery at the Circuit House (Annexe), Hyderabad. Shehla said that the PPP had been victimised by its opponents, military dictators since it came into being, however the government of the PPP would not leave its victimised workers unattended nor it will take revengeful steps against its opponents.
She said that the compensation cheques for the injured and heirs of the party workers, who lost their lives in Karsaz blast on October 18, 2007, are ready and would be presented to them shortly. Responding to the complaints about the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Income Support Programme, Shehla said that all efforts were being taken to make it more transparent.
Further, she said that strategy concerning the programme would be discussed and designed in the next session of the Sindh Assembly. 'Present PPP government was facing two major challenges. one is to clean the mess of previous government and next to go ahead and bring the country on the right track of development and economic prosperity,' she said adding that it would take some time to taste the result of the changes being brought by the government.
The Acting Sindh Governor said that the PPP believes in the democracy and was struggling, fighting and sacrificing for the democracy since last 41 years faced four dictators during the period. She advised the party workers to bring unity among their ranks and not to approach any bureaucrat for jobs but to follow the prescribed procedure for this purpose.
She said that it was only the PPP government that has provided income and employment opportunities to the people and it will continue this service in future as well. In the open katchery, she received applications from the people and issued orders on the spot.
Shehla also took some of the applications with her with the promise of forwarding them to quarters concerned. The Sindh Minister for Fisheries, Zahid Bhurgri, MPA, Pir Amjad Hussain Shah, local PPP leaders and DCO Hyderabad, Ali Ahmed Lund were also present on this occasion.
