Concrete steps will be taken to vitalise scouting movements and make it a result-oriented and worthwhile organisation in the province. In this connection the apex body of the Scouts Movement in NWFP, the provincial scout council met with NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani at Governor's House, here on Friday.
After having a review of the working of the council, it was decided to chalk out concrete proposals to enhance the working strength so that to make the organisational structure more result oriented.
For this purpose, a six-member committee was constituted which has been tasked to review the entire working process of the council, determine deficiencies and come out with a concrete action plan to make the organisation a fully efficient, active and useful one in line with the true spirit of the Scouts Movement.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor, who is also the Chief Scouts Commissioner in the province said that this is a highly important movement with very noble objectives and one must have to make committed, sincere and devoted efforts to create possibility for achieving the cherished goals of this great movements.
"There should be a workable system to run the movement effectively and develop an environment of efficient working of the council," he said. In fact, he said, the students are the real owners of this movement and there is a need to ensure a suitable atmosphere, where they could avail the opportunities of participating in the activities of the organisation effectively.
To inject a afresh spirit in the working of the organisation, the Governor said, we should also develop an opportunity wherein the veteran and experienced scouts could be in a position to transfer their experiences to the new comers in the movement.
For this purpose, he desired, a list of the old scouts, including the ex-members of both the provincial and central scouts councils should be compiled within a two months time, after which the council should meet to define future course of action in this respect.
