Weather updates: Karachi receives isolated pouring rain
KARACHI: The city received isolated heavy falls in different areas on Monday night and Tuesday morning after continued week-long drizzling and pleasant weather.
According to the weather forecast, Karachi is experiencing drizzle and rain in different parts of the vicinity with temperature recorded 29 Celsius, expected to continue for further 24 hours.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department’s daily weather report, Light rain/drizzle is expected in Karachi and at a few places along Sindh coast.
Whereas, rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls expected at a number of places in upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions), Islamabad and Kashmir, while at scattered places in southern Punjab (D.G.Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal divisions), Zhob, Kalat divisions, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Previously, rain-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) occurred at a number of places in Rawalpindi division, Islamabad and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Gujranwala, Lahore, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Quetta, Zhob and Karachi divisions.
The last recorded mm of rain in Karachi includes, Gulshan-e-Hadeed 03, Masroor, University Road, Nazimabad, A/P 02, Saddar, Faisal, Jinnah Terminal 01.
Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Monsoon currents are penetrating in upper parts of the country and likely to continue during next few days.
